Welcome to the Regional Cancer Program (RCP).
Please note: The hospital is a non-smoking and scent-free building.
Our cancer care team want to give you the best care possible.

Your family doctor or your surgeon has referred you to the Regional Cancer Program. We will ask the referring doctor to send us your x-rays, scans and medical reports. It is important that you and your doctor make sure this information is sent ahead or given to you to bring on your first visit.  Without this information, the cancer care team will not be able to start planning treatment.

The Regional Cancer Program (RCP) of the Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital (HRSRH) is one of eleven cancer programs in Ontario. Our centre provides care for the people of northeastern Ontario. We see more than 3,000 new patients each year.

Our cancer program offers:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Surgery
  • Palliative care
  • Supportive care services from dietitians, social workers, speech language pathologists, physiotherapists, cancer genetic counsellors and a special dental team
  • Cancer prevention and screening programs
  • Library for patients and family members
  • Patient information sessions
  • Research and clinical trials

If you would like to know more about treatment and services, please refer to the binder on
Information for Patients and Families. Patients get this binder at their first visit.

You've spent your life feeding me making my bed and folding my clothes. Those are things that only a mother could do, and being my mom no one could do it any better than you.
